The "Losino" is an indigenous horse from the mountainous north of the
Iberian peninsula. It is an endangered species of which only 300 or so still roam the mountains near a town called Pancorbo in the province of Burgos. Their ancestors were among the first horses to be shipped across the Atlantic during the Spanish conquest of the Americas. BACK
